Description
The Automatic Compression Release kit (P/N 28861-07A) reduces cylinder compression automatically during cranking, making high-compression and big-bore Twin Cam engines far easier to start. Once the engine fires, the ACR valves close to restore full compression.
By easing the strain of starting a high-performance motor, the ACR system reduces wear on the starter motor and battery and is a popular addition to Screamin’ Eagle performance builds. The solenoids can be used with Original Equipment or Screamin’ Eagle cylinder heads.
Installation requires machining of the cylinder heads by a qualified technician using the separate fixture kit, plus a model-specific wiring harness, both sold separately.
Fitment: 2007-2017 Twin Cam equipped models. Does not fit Twin-Cooled engines.
